[Supply Chain] - [For shop Management]
[The reality]
Starbucks needs a better software to manage their sales and inventory in China. They have lost part of their sales revenue due to short of stock or overstock.
Their central management system is just for inputting the sales data at closing time everyday, with which nothing can be reflected or tracked.
The shops' inventories are completed based on the purchase person's estimation, which take them 1-2 hours to work on everyday with no pay. Seeing them working so hard every day, I wanted to help them to reduce their workload. Therefore, I asked some more questions to understand more.
I showed their staffs our software system. They were very happy to see these statistics and analysis. They said: "Oh, it's really clear. You should talk with our boss."
[ opportunity ]
I had the chance to meet Mr. Howard Shultz, the founder of Starbucks in 2006.
I showed him my one-page proposal. After reading for a few minutes, he said: "Thank you very much!"
They are now busy on their internal restructuring.
